Summary:
Did the Acatenango hike with OX Adventures and it was absolutely class! The weather was a bit mad at times, but it didn’t take away from how unreal the whole thing was. Watching Volcán Fuego erupt right in front of us was unbelievable — proper bucket list stuff.
Our guides Axel and Miguelito were legends — sound lads, great craic, and really looked after everyone all the way up. OX had us sorted with everything we needed, so all we had to do was enjoy the climb (and the views!).
Getting to do a timed lap at the summit was a brilliant touch — a bit of friendly competition to finish off an incredible experience.
Only bit of feedback: Axel could definitely work on his job-guessing skills — he was miles off, but we’ll let him off since he’s so good at everything else.
Couldn’t recommend OX Adventures enough. If you’re in Guatemala, this is a must-do!
